Welcome to the Australian Indigenous Medical Electives Database (AIMED). This site links Australian medical students with indigenous medical elective and selective placements in Australia.
AIMED is a resource to assist Australian medical students to participate in indigenous health medical elective placements and research projects.
AIMED covers opportunities in urban, regional, rural and remote locations in every State and Territory of Australia. Every community is different. Every student experience is different. We embrace this diversity with the AIMED database. It is only through voluntary, task-based placement with these communities that a greater understanding can develop. It is through active involvement as a medical student that future activity as practitioners can be encouraged.
AIMED enables and encourages participation in Australian indigenous health.
If you would like more information on AIMED, or to be involved in the administration of this website please contact us.
